Houston is still Houston.
It was just one line in the preview, but as I watched the Navy-Houston game on Saturday, it kept popping into my head. The Cougars have had their ups and downs this season, and statistically, a few indicators seemed to favor Navy. But this is Houston. Since joining the American in 2015, Navy has only won this game twice, and the Cougars still scored 40+ points in both of those contests. Good or bad, Houston is still Houston. On Saturday, the underclassman-dominated Mids lined up against one of the most physical and athletic teams on their schedule every year, knowing that they would probably have to win a shootout, all while their opponent had what was essentially a real-time Wakeyleaks on their sideline. All things considered, I'm surprised the game went as well as it did.
