IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors from Week 11 of the 2024 season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Katin Houser • So. • QB • East Carolina

Houser led a resurgent East Carolina offense to a 49-14 win against Florida Atlantic as he figured in six touchdowns and accounted for 395 yards of total offense. Houser completed 17 of 22 passes for 343 yards and five touchdowns while he rushed for 52 yards and a TD on five carries. Houser has passed for 612 yards and 10 touchdowns in East Carolina’s last two games.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kalib Fortner • Jr. • LB • Army

Fortner led a defense that kept North Texas’ potent offense out of the end zone in a 14-3 win in Denton, extending the Black Knights’ winning streak to 13 games and keeping Army atop the American Athletic Conference standings. Fortner finished the game with eight tackles including two tackles for loss anchoring a unit that limited the Mean Green to 69 rushing yards and 283 total yards. North Texas had entered the game averaging 40.8 points and 527.6 yards per game.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Riley Riethman • Sr. • P • Navy

Riethman helped Navy tilt the field position battle as the Midshipmen scored a 28-7 road win against South Florida. Riethman averaged 49.7 yards on seven punts, with a long of 60 yards, and dropped three punts inside the 20-yard line and two inside the 10. Riethman leads The American and is ranked fifth nationally in punting average (46.4).

HONORABLE MENTION

Bryson Daily • Sr. • RB • Army

Rushed for 153 yards and both Army touchdowns on 36 carries in a 14-3 win at North Texas.

Zakye Barker • Sr. • LB • East Carolina

Had a team-high eight tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack in a 49-14 win against Florida Atlantic.

Mario Anderson Jr. • Sr. • RB • Memphis

Rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries and had a 31-yard reception in a 27-20 win against Rice.

Chandler Martin • Jr. • LB • Memphis

Had 11 tackles with a fumble recovery and a pass breakup in a 27-20 win against Rice.

Makhi Hughes • So. • RB • Tulane

Rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in a 52-6 win against Temple.
