Social media has changed recruiting in many ways. Some might argue that not all of those changes are good, but it isn't all bad, either. One positive impact has been that recruits have a chance to get to know one another before arriving on campus. There is an element of team cohesion even before they step onto the practice field.

Leading that charge in Navy's 2019 recruiting class is Max Sandlin. Whenever a new player announces his commitment to the Naval Academy, the Chandler (AZ) defensive end is the first person on Twitter welcoming him to the Brotherhood. The way Sandlin sees it, he's just following the example that he has seen in his own experience with the Navy program.
